If you just mysteriously vanished without finishing this, I think about half the members of this site would hate you forever.

I just realized that you have the flying sketti monster as your avatar. Thought it looked familiar. Funny book! love it! lol.:headbang2

sorry double post

I'll have to wait til monday to have the coatings shipped, and will be like next weekend before I can get the rest of the plywood, but it shall be done by christmas I hope! I need to get a repirator and some goggles. Should've gotten them sooner, but better late than never!

your correct the acrylic is really clear. that must feel so great to have it and know that your almost there. this is the best thread I have read and I hate when I cant get online to see what has happened each day if not a few times a day.

Neco the tank is coming along great man that I see, sorry about the long hours at work should have worn you, but you was to excited about getting the job and didn't wanna mess a man hopes up. OO by the way some time they put additive in the gel coat that it want be sticky when it is cure. Mainly it is a wax or a patch aid that make it much harder.

Larry... It really isn't good to drink this early in the morning... It took a few times of reading that before I got what you were saying  :D
Me too, and i wonder if he is refering to the wax in some gel-coats that is there for a releasing agent...Normally Gel-coat is the first/color coat when you use a mold to laminate...

Yeah they were telling me that I should get one of the 5 gal buckets with the wax for the last coat so that it would lay down better and dry more evenly. I did get an additive seperate that is supposed to help the top coat cure more evenly, and more quickly. Plus it will dry tack-free, without the wax additive it won't cure right is what I'm being told. I think the other product is called gelcoat patch aid.

I'm using sand and large riverstone mixture for this thing. Will go on the gelcoat which is the last layer.
