180 Gallon Fix up DIY

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I put plastic egg crate under the gravel in my tank to keep any sharp rock edges from poking at the bottom glass. It was about 11 bucks at Home depot for a 2x4" sheet.

It's called "Light defuser panel" should be in the lighting section.

great info. Might have to do some eel wranglin and do this.

Have fun with that. I used to find big Moray eels when I was swimming in Hawaii. They aren't the friendliest things around.

Yea , well he is really friendly to me. He likes to be stroked a little , but i dont really fully trust him. He always has this evil look about him. Its amazing feeding him live octapus , its really wild. He rips them to shreds , funny thing though the octapus really fights back. I'll get some really big ones and they will try to shove their tenticuls down his breathing holes and suffacate him. They also try to hold his mouth shut, but that doesnt work haha. I will try to get a video posted of that.

Now back to the reason i have this thread , lol. The tank is almost cycled, I'd say another couple days. We need decor, badly. I was thinking of some of the driftwood from ebay. Its in arkansas , i want to driving there this weekend to save A TON of money on shipping. Anyone out in the Ark area? Still not sure on that yet, but i guess i'll know by tomorrow. I might do a couple big stones here and there , then i would really like the live moss on the driftwood. Anyone know any information on best way to grow/obtain/glue this moss? As far as the stocking goes , ashley hasn't been doing very good, so i cant figure out if i want to do a small jardini tank ( have 8 baby jars and single them out for an 8 year breeding project.) Or if i want to do a baby jar and couple baby monsters. Or if i should just go all out show tank with the largest and most majestic of the monsters show caseing them. Whats everyones thoughts?

alright ran into a problem, i got this badass center piece. But its far to big to set into the tank. im think i might have to cut it in half and then shove it back together inside the tank... any thoughts from everyone? please help me out:nilly:

and i got two baby peacock bass :)

the jaguar isnt happy

Do NOT cut your tank brace! Do what you need to with the wood to get it in.
