ok im getting a 180gallon tanks soon that will hold my motoro silver arrow silver dollar albino tiger oscar and tiger oscar im gunna use sand for the substrate and use a fluval fx5 for filtration what else would u guys recomend as far as filtration or what to put in the tank for decor

I run 2 Fx5's and a 403 for canesTers in my tank along with 2 seio 2600 power heads on my tank and i haVe to clean the everY 2-3 weeks. if my euro bracing wasn't so wide i would put on 2 Aquaclear 110's on it as well my tank is a 230 Gallon

Depending on your PH I would use some nice bog wood or driftwood and lava rocks thats just my favorite look though. As far as filtration you got a good amount with the FX5 why not a emperor 400 or ac110 for additional mechanical filtration ?

Christ almighty do you have a whirlpool :D

ive heard a ton of complaints on the ac110 is it expensive cuz i know i hav an emperor 400 on my 60 gallon and the bags are 10 bucks a month i know that doesnt sound like much but im 17 and still in high school lol so it would 20 bucks a month for the 2 and all my other tanks lol

and i was also wondering what you would recomend heater wise i wold like to stay with normal store bought heaters

How are the ac110 expensive? Once you pay for the filter you dont have to buy any "bags" for it. just wash the sponge when it gets dirty.

If you have a lot of other tanks I would go online and buy your filter stuff (cartridges) on the internet......it's WAY WAY cheaper if you stock up and in the long run the 12 dollars you pay for shipping still makes it cheaper. I buy my filters on PetMountain.com or Thatfishplace.com. I think there is also a site called aquariumguys.com too.
