Nice stand! Will you be building a hood as well?

Also, what kind of discus will you be keeping?
Yes, building matching hood to go with it. Will get to work on doors this weekend and possibly hood. I only have the weekends to work on this so it will be a slow build.

Currently right now I have all Stendker discus ( DiscusHans ), 10 total. Current 75 is too small, thus the reason for the upgrade...and more discus

More stand updates ....

Still need to do some rounding on door edges and sanding followed by staining. Will be using a waterproof coating in stand and also inside the canopy.

Some more progress pics. Stand still needs sanding, conditioned and stained. While waiting to get sandpaper I started on sump. Had to make a little jig to hold the cross baffle in place while the silicone dried. I will clean up the silicone tomorrow and run a water test to see if it works the way I expect.

Looking awesome! Be careful with that CO2. It can be pretty hard on discus.

For this tank, are you going to get discus that are already grown, or are you going to grow them out yourself?

I already have some discus that are very near adult, 10 of them in a 75.... thus the reason for this upgrade. I will be adding more and I'm not sure if I will buy adults or grow them out, need to check the pros and cons. I will be injecting small amounts of c02 to start since I am not very familiar with it.

What a mess getting pine to take stain. I had read about it and thought it can't be that bad. Had to end up putting 3 coats of stain down to finally get it looking right and that was after putting the wood conditioner on. Just put first coat of poly on the doors and will do a minimum of one more coat after sanding, possibly 2.

Color is Onyx.
