I think most of us tend to overstock our tank with bichirs, but thats ok as long as you have a good filtration. I dont mind having 20 bichirs in 180g, but there are more maintenance to do. And it'll cost more to feed them.

:iagree: then add a (if you can) RTG/XBack OR grow out an Afro it's what I've got

Zebra Shovel-nose catfish would look sweet!! i know people keep catfish with bichirs

oh ok. will the 180 be good for long term housing. I reant an apartment and until i can buy a house the 180 will ne as big as i can go for at least two years.

Ok guys i picked up TSN/RTC hybrid catfish today. Hes a cool little fish at 2 inches. I know they grow super fast. it will be 24 inches before I know it. So as for Bichirs go what would be acceptable as far as stocking is concerned.

return that fish!!! it gets HUGE!!! more than double your aquariums width. if you keep him, you'll eventually start waking up everyday with one less fish. they're really cool fish, but they pretty much need a pond.

after you've gotten rid of that guy. i would say may polypterus endlicheri endlicheri, polypterus ornatipinnis, polypterus delhezi.

I personally really like polypeterus senegalus, because they have the most personalities. But, most people don't like them cause they're pretty common.

besides polypterus i feel like you could go with a few "foot-long" south or central american cichlids. maybe not something really aggressive (like a dovii), but more friendly like oscars, Jack dempsey, green terrors, etc.

Yeah i looked around last night and discovered how big he will get. I knew they get big but i
had no idea how big. LFS said 2 foot max. Hmmmmm what do they know.
