I'm still looking for my young Jardini. Haven't come across one yet. I DID add 2 pieces of driftwood and another FX5, and a dozen ghost shrimp, but no fish..... Anyone know how I can acquire a young Jag locally? I prefer to support my local businesses.

Well, I finally picked up my arowana. Not the one I was planning on however. I've been staring at this Silver at my local Petco for a couple weeks now. I just couldn't take it any longer, so I bought him last night.

He's in pretty rough shape: fins ALL messed up and slight drop eye in his right eye, but I like a project. He's only about 7" right now, so I should be able to enjoy his company for at least a year before he out-grows my 180.

In Petco's defense, everyone there knew this fish and liked him. Fish department guy says he would hand feed him at night. Not sure why the fish is in such rough shape, but hopefully he makes a fully recovery. I will post pics tonight.

Nice tank I am the dude from craglist I its a Jardini Arowana like 7-8 inches some 6inches for $85.00 at beltway aquarium at beltway plaza Greenbelt,Maryland

Hey man! Glad to see you on here! It was the petco in Burke. He's still acting really shy, but here is a crappy camera pic of my new buddy: Gyarados.

Good looking tank! What are the specs on the lighting? My 130g is cycling currently and I'm interested bc I like how the light illuminates the whole tank but the corners arent fully lit

Thanks! The lighting is a 48" fixture with 4 x T5 bulbs with lunar LEDS. I read up on lighting for larger tanks on this site before going with that lamp. the 48" fixture leaves
about 12" on either side a little darker, which my aro is supposed to like. If your tank is 72" long, you could use a similarly sized light and get the same effect.

Where you get the monsterfishkeepers sticker from

It actually came with the tank! I bought it form a former MKF'er who got out of the hobby.

Also, I'm trying to cycle it using water from my other aquariums. I usually pour at least 5 gallons of water from one of my established tanks into the 180 every night. Do you think this will be enough to get her cycled within a month? I've never tried to cycle a tank this large, so I'm not sure how long it will take.

Thanks for the input everyone.
