I agree 100%. I will also probably shift everything a few inches left.

It seems my update was premature. This morning, my severum appears to have a bad prolapse.

I've never seen anything like this before. He was fine yesterday. This morning, he didn't come out for his feeding. Anything I can do besides water changes?

No change in the prolapse after a day with Epsom salt. I did a 50% water change and added more salt to keep it at 1 table spoon per 10 gallons. Hopefully we'll see some improvement in the next few days. My nitrates stay at 5ppm or less.


The dog remains completely unconcerned about the situation.

Yep. Ridgies are contortionists. He's only 6 months old, though.

Well, my gold severum did not survive his prolapse. He was really struggling the past few days. This morning he was in a top corner of the tank and I just now found him lying dead on the bottom. He was exactly 5 inches.

Love the tank and the stock ?Those Colombian tetras are very cool. A big school of tetras in a large tank is awesome to watch.
