funny i have the same return pump(mag-drives are the best in my opinion)

Magdrives are the only pumps I've ever used and I've needed very few replacements.

shouldnt those bio balls be more out of the water?

Yeah,there is a good bit of the bio balls that are submerged but they should still get a good growth of bacteria.I'm not sure which of the two colonies are more effective though.

There are still quite a few that are open air you just can't tell because of condensation.
