1800 gallon build and my new 180

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm getting less than half. I'm going to order more but I think using it with the fiberglass mat is what's taking up so much. I think I'm going to order max acr to finish up the fiberglass part on the seems and then do the pond armor over the max acr

Nothing soakes up paint more than cement....thats exactly what u want is good penetration of the sealant but i know its not cheap. Lookin good and dont get discouraged, it def wont leak with the cement board and fiberglass soaking up all the epoxy. Any build ive ever done always ended up costing more $$$ in the end but itell b worth it. Atleast u know ur doing it right and not putting down a few mm of sealer. I wouldnt mix brands of epoxy u never know how they may react to each other.

Your right. I'm going to get some more pond armor and dilute it in denatured alcohol. Once the first coat is all the way on I'm sure the rest of the pond armor will get better coverage

I didn't get very good coverage with pond armor either, ended up using nearly twice as much. Not sure what you're using to apply it but I found a plastic tile trowel worked best for me.

just seeing how it going over there ? whats the next thought , just wating to get some free time or waiting on the pond armor or both ??

Great progress so far - i've just caught up with the 16 pages.

Why did you opt to go with the cement board? I don't think i've saw this done before?

Have you sourced your acrylic yet ?
