I had the same problem with the noise. Instead of running pipes through the wall I put the wife in the garage not the filter. The house is a lot quieter now.

Ha I have a 75 gallon in my bedroom with the eel In it and I'm getting rid of that once the 180 is complete. Too noisy with the skimmer and everything

Oh. And tomorrow I'm enclosing the garage and building the wall and I'm about to go to lowes and get as much supplies as I can fit into the truck Once the wall is built I'm going to start working on building the tank itself
