That's a sweet tank:headbang2
I was thinking of getting a 180 myself

Thanks everyone.

The tank has a 40g glass tank as a sump. The water drains through the teeth of the overflow, which is the whole back area, a trapezoid, so over 30" of surface area that skims from the top. Goes through a Durso pipe into a 2" drain, into the bio-tower of the sump, down through the media, and out to the tank using a Mag 24 (2400g /hr) pump through two openings, half way up the overflow, on the sides, which push water midway through the tank all the way to the other end (6 feet) which pushes it up, and toward the overflow and gets skimmed by the teeth. Pretty simple. Works pretty well, crystal clear water and the sand is clean enough to eat from.

The lights are nice. They are made OK, not perfect, the heads tend to sag after a while and need to be re-set. But the light is wonderful, PURE white 14K light and very powerful. Plus being a MH light it creates that shimmer that is impossible to catch on the photo. You can see "rays of light" going down to the substrate from the water that is constantly moving on the surface.

The stuff on the wood is Java Moss, still growing in. Needs a few more months to attach properly.

what kind of sand did you use again. I think I'm gonna use that when I decorate my next tank.

im need to get those lights for my tanks very very geos the tank/aquascaping looks amazing keep posting pics beautiful set up

The sand is 3M Colorquartz, Buff color, S grade. You can find dealers on the 3M website.

I dont know what type of Geos they are, Supposed to be Altifrons, but I am not sure, there are three different varieties in the tank. The big ones look like Altifrons.
