Can't make up my mind, I need another catfish for my 180G tank the 2~5" Synodontis in there now aren't the best eaters, but they also don't eat the smaller cichlids in the tank. I have a community tank of fish of various sizes, ranging from a 3" Kribenses and 4" Convicts to 4 Monsterous RTGGs, largest being 16" inches. Everyone basically gets along, so I'm not really interested in say a RTC - because they're a dime a dozen, plus they'll end up eating the small cichlids before years end. Shovelnoses aren't for me, there better alone or in a tank that won't mess up there tailfins. Channels are ugly. What I want is a kewl looking Cat that will clean up the leftover, but won't inhale the smaller cichlids. I haven't ruled out RTC, just that I would like to find something a little less flooding the market type of fish, size the size they get isn't really a factor.

Any suggestions will be helpful.......& appreciated!

paroon/id?

You mean a Paroon Shark/Cat? I have thought about those on more than one occasion, but everyone I speak with here in Hell claim there illegal now. I could still get them just that if I ever needed to get rid of them, well it would be more than a little difficult.

But I was thinking more along the lines of a bottom dweller.

Thanx

Gotta be a fish that stays more on the bottom all the time. The bottom of the 180G is basically empty except for the other to boring cats.

I've got an asian sun cat (Horabagrus brachysoma) and wouldn't trade him for the world. He is very placid and just sits on the bottom. I did have issues with him eating fish that were about 1.5in but other than that he's fine. I have him with a jd cichlid, 3 tinfoil barbs, 2 plecs, a synadontis eruptus, and 2 silver dollars and everyone gets along fine. If you don't like them you could get a lima shovelnosed which are smaller than tsn cats. Don't rule out an RTC though i love those fish. They can become very tame. One of my friends has one that eats out of his hand and enjoys being petted.
