180G Needs Another Catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I know that this sounds too small ,but I would suggest aneus catfish in a school of 6 to 12. They are active schooling fish and even though they are small their spines make them quite inedible and I have had a school of 50 that I raised in a 50 gal that were just a blast to watch in a quiet sorta way.

irwini or niger cat.

Thanx for your reply. I have and still am looking into these cats as both of them seem to have simular eating habits to what I feed the rest of the fish already in the aquarium.

claris/walking catfish?

Claris is another one of my favorite cats, and I have thought that if I couldn't find another cat by the time I head to Florida that I would just net one out of the lake behide the house and ship it home. Thanx for the reasponse.

Yes I agree that a school of Aneus catfish would make a great addition to a large aquarium, they'd be like a bunch of little Roomva/Scubbing Bubbles scouring throughout the bottom of the tank. But regardless of their spines my RTGG's may view them as food and chase them either to their deaths, or hurt themselves on the spines from constantly nipping at them.
But thanx for the reply.

Do to a small family emergency I had to go to Florida for the weekend, while things were quite I got to do some fishing for about 30 minutes or so. I haven't had the chance to try for any Claris with my nets I guess I'll have to wait until the end of next month when I return for some R&R.
