I have one FX5, 2 koralia powerheads, over 40 inches of dovi, and over 50 inches of clown loaches in a 240 for 2 years, no problems..........spend all you want, my fish are very healthy.

Only 90"? Way understocked you still can get another 150" of fish:D

Sounds nice

i got a FX5, an Eheim 2028 pro 2 and a 1200 GPH power head on my 120 gallon... it gives me piece of mind.. one reason being; if one filter was to fail, for what ever reason, i still have one left to back it up ;)

People are way too eager to recommend spending insane amounts of money on filtration.

in my area (ontario canada) to go to the LFS and buy two FX5's is almost $800 by the time you include tax..

I run a 150g with twin Rena XP3's and an AC110, which is a little more than half that if you go and buy all three new..

works very well..

but in terms of media, two XP3's = 1 FX5...so..if you spend the $800 you have tons and tons of room for media..

I say two or three! :D
I run 2 FX5 + 3 300GPH+ HOB, and a 1000GPH+ Powerhead!
Tank is crystal clear! (at lease to me it is.) :D

What's the stock?

I prefer to run at least two filters in case one dies. You don't want to find yourself in the situation where your filter dies, and you're scrambling to save your fish! I run a Marineland C-360, Rena XP4, and FX5 on my 180... but that's just me. I like lots of filters. They're pretty. :D

I knew I had room for a twenty foot sturgeon in my 240! lol
