Hi all!!

This is my first post on MKF and what a great Forum!

I have a baby common snapper currently as well as a few other planted fish tanks. Though I have had a turtle in the past it was not a snapper. My question is about diet. I have been feeding him a variety of live and store bought foods and so far he has never refused anything ( he growing like a weed). Now in a planted/ fish 55gallon I have alot of regualr old little snails. I don't mind them, but I'm not opposed to controlling the population a bit. Will a baby snapper eat and be ok to eat a snail or two?

TIA

Yes, it will be fine.
(its funny to find out you live in reston, i never find people that live in NoVa on these forums, I live in herndon)

Thanks for the info! I'll try to see if he'll eat some snails tonight. You have a Snapper or RES? Good to hear about a local on the forums.

So far my baby snapper hasnt refused anything. Ive fed her guppys, turtle sticks, all kinds of bugs, worms, crickets, and meal worms. They love to eat and they grow very fast. Can we see some pics?

Well he ate a Stink bug last night ( by accident). I saw the bug crawling around the rim of his tank and made a mis step. GULP. kinda like boba fet and the sarlac pit LOL.

Here's a pic. I'll adds ome more later.

Nice snapper. Your water is pristine as it looks like air.

Very nice. I love when they are small like that, but won't be for long. Mix in some veggies and greens once in awhile. Not as a staple but just as a treat.
