1st-Time Marine --- Filtration Help Needed

As usual, clockwork is right. Salt water is quite a bit different. Way different if you are considering reefing.

There are a few guys that have salt here, but there are quite a few marine forums that have excellent beginner sections.

IMO you are set up for disaster if you don't do some extensive reading first. But good luck!!!

plenty of live rock , loads of flow , dont overstock , a over sized skimmer and its a very good idea to grow algea i used a old salt bucket with a 11 watt light over it and water pumped to it from the sump .
