Hello everyone. I am planning a trip to Green Bay this summer in early August. Going to go see Packers' training camp and Lambeau Field. Anyway, the plan is to stay at my Sister & Brother in law's house in WI, and take the train down to Chicago to see the Shedd. No...I haven't looked up their site yet sorry, but I will this weekend.:grinno:

How much time will we need to check it out?

Should we try to get tix in advance? How much do they go for? (2 adults and one child 6 yrs old)

If its too big for a day, which parts would you recommend MOST?

I am mostly interested in (currently keeping) SA/CA cichlids, but as I understand they have everything from tetras to sharks

CANT WAIT!!!:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

Any advice you can give would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

Most of the information you ask for is available on their website. You probably will not need to get tickets in advance. I have never been there, but expect that you will need almost the entire day to check it out. (This coming from a guy that can watch barnacles in a small tide pool for 20 minutes.)

its been years since i was there last, and at the time i wasnt even a fish nut yet, just a kid who liked fish.
i remember it was a pretty good sized aquarium, so i would say if you are really into it you could spend 5+ hours there easily.
i was just at Newport Aquarium a month or so ago (highly recommend it) and it took about 4-5 hours.
maybe someone whos been there more recently can help you better, but it deffinately had a lot of things to see from what i remember

5 hours is good. I spent an hour in front of the Asian display though! lol

The nice thing about it is that if you're not into saltwater then you can pretty much have the entire freshwater section to yourself. When I was there, everyone was packed in the saltwater section screaming about nemo, but the freshwater displays were nice and almost empty.

cool thanks. yeah kinda figured most of it was on their site, But knew a bunch of you had been there and knew what the "hidden Gems" were.

Gotta brush up on my photography skills by summer eh?

:D

It's one of the most difficult places I've been to take pictures.

make sure you get tickets to see everything and have a good time
that place is amazing:headbang2

Went there many times but the last time I was there was 30 years ago :) A

Here are the pics from my last visit. Now that I've stepped up on the camera I can't wait to go again. I love that place!
