I have aquired 2 2500g pumps and a 100g sump. I have a 4' tall trickle tower already. How many gallons worth of tank can i filter with this? At moderate stocking. And what would be the best media?

I was moreso looking at if 5000g can be filtered through 100g of sump. Or if the water will be passing through to quickly.

you have to make sure the pvc pipes and over flows can handle that kinda pressure/movement there certain sizes that will allow "x' amount of water through it .... plus you have head height that factors in the amount of gph it really will move too

I plan on having 4+ tanks running to the 1 sump. Im more looking for an answer of biological capacity. Getting the water to and from are not a problem. Im just worried the water will not have enough contact time with media inside the sump at approx 5000g

then run just one pump and keep the other as aback up

I dont know. If the filter can be setup to handle the Load id like to use both.

Well then set it up to run both then, and have valves on em to throttle them back if needed .... Easier to turn both down a tad rather then one down a lot right ? .... And ya can always open em up if ya think it to slow.... But I would look up your pump online to find out how many gph it does when it a certain amount away from the tank or your case tanks.... That gonna play a BIG amount if the real amount of gph ya will be moving once ya know how far the pump will be from were it returns into the tanks.... Running mutiple tanks ya may only be running at 2500gph at full throttle once it all hooked up , all depends how far away the pump is from the return in the tank

I am all set for that. My question still remains. Is a wet dry tower and a 100g sump enough to sustain that kind of GPH. Even at 6x turnover i should be able to filter about 600 total. However im just not sure the sump is large enough. Nothing about the pumps itself.
