yes the most important thing is that they go to a place that they can be comfortable in. i cant let them go to anything less than atleast a 1000 gallons and they might be able to be in there for years.. not to sure on there growth rate. based on my research i have seen them in captivity get about 8-9 ft.. but as with anything there are variables which they can be bigger or smaller
 
I will look go and get some info and so on about shipping something like this and see if it's something I would be able to do.
