2.5 gallon suggestions

I'm about to buy a 2.5 gallon mini bow from petsmart so I can have at least some fish in my dorm room! :nilly: Any suggestions for what I could put in there? No live plants because it will be sitting on a desk and needs to be relatively low maintenance.
 
shell dwellers, or rams.....
 
i have no idea what shell dwellers are? are they expensive? they don't have to be "monster" fish. guppies, platys, etc. are cool with me just something colorful and moving to look at.
 
i would think that those cichlids would get too big for the tank. and they would be too active. I would say a Betta fish with a snail. its too small for anything else IMO

+ You can have live plants like anubias + Java Fern + Java Moss. All low light plants and just tie them onto a rock or a piece of drift wood and forget about them.

depends on if the 2.5 is filtered too.

I have a 1.5 with a betta fish and 2 dwarf frogs and they all seem very happy

No heater, just a small "bubble filter" they are entertaining and couldn't get much easier to care for.
