That would make me feel way better having the ends supported. My understanding is that standard glass tanks only need support on all four corners. For that reason you can have racks where only the ends of the tank are supported but middle just floats. You don't want any flexing on one end which could, in theory, make the tank crack or blow a seam because of the weight distribution.
