2 black aro's in a 240?

HEllo there i would most certainly say anything higher then 24 inches is a waste of money i personally have just bought a 240 8'2'2 for a jardini and there is no way i would put it in a tank shorter then 8 feet long that's just my opinion if you have ever seen a full grown black or jar in a 180 or any tank that is only 72 inches long they are crowded they defenitly need the extra room to swim because like every one else said all they do is swim and in my opinion they would be most happy in a 240 that is 8.2.2 beleive i thought about this quistion for about a year before i decided to buy the 240 in the demension of 8'2'2 the blacks will not need more room then 24 inches to turn around or more then 18 inches of water which they will have 24 but they defenitly need the 8 lenght at a adult hood of 30 inches plus anyways there's my opinion hope i helped.

The problem with getting a 180 and upgrading in two years this that i dont know if I will have enough money for a 375 buy then and I dont want to have to give up my fish, so I was thinking of trying to get the biggest possible tank I could right now. And, If I were to wait two years to upgrade, I'm sure the RTGG would outgrow the 180 by then. I will most likely not get the RTGG because I dont want it outgrowing the slow gorwing black aro's and causing trouble.
I think I may just get the 300g tall from, Glasscages, I have enough money, and I can fit it in my room!

I will have $1400 to spend on everything, lights, filtration, hood, etc... So I'm leaning more towards the 300g tall. Tell me what you think.

I was thinking the wide would be better aswell, it will cost more but it will be worth it to make my future aro's happy! I can always get the fish later on ofcourse.

Also, if I were to get the 240 long, Would it even be possible to keep two black aro's in it for life? If so I may just get it instead of the 300g.

I think with your sitsuation the 240 long is the best value. Whether or not that tank would be good for life is a matter of opinion. I would say in 4-5 years when they are aproaching 30" in length you would have to make a decision regarding tank size, ofcourse by then many things could change in your life.
If I were you I would contact them a get a shipping quote. Last year when I was looking into getting that 240g they wanted to charge me $200 to pick up from a wharehouse in Denver where they had them in stock. Shipping on that tank could be as much as 400 or 500 bucks.

That is quite a bit for shipping, I have no Idea what I'm going to do, as a tank costing $590 plus shipping with a cost of $400 is 990 dollars, wich would leave me with 410 dollars to buy the rest of the supplies needed to run the tank correctly. But really, the supplies really arent going to cost that much if I look around and do some price comparing.
I'm probably going to make a stand with cinder blocks because its cheap and can be done quickly. My birthday is July 16 and I'm sure I'll get some money by then, so I'm probably going t hold off on the tank until I get all my money together. I will email them about the shipping though!

Id say the wider the better cause what if you cant upgrade a few years down for some reason out of your control by getting the 300 wide you just bought yourself some more time with the fish b4 you have to upgrade. Or Since my understanding is u do not have the fish yet you could wait until you have enought money for the tnak you really want.
I'm just going to get the 240 long and two black arowanas. 4-5 years is a long time, I'm sure if the need be I would be able to upgrade in that time.
