bluebell, do you really have to type in blue? it's very annoying to try and read (in dark style)
Lol...I guess here's the black font then.:D
Gads!!! My favorite color is down the drain at the moment.:( :D

thought everyone might want to know that when i woke up this morning, they lost the red stripe again, but when i got home again, it was back

dunno about you guys but my tetra's loose their colour at night and brighten up a few minutes after i turn the lights on in the morning, i assumed this was normal

Color loss is normal in many situations, usually it returns when the tank situation returns to normal. When I started with saltwater, I bought Damsels. I turned on the light the next morning, and the fish were a completely different color. One was a bright blue originally and was completely gray the next morning. The other was green, but I saw it with completely faded colors and stripes! I watched them gain their color back almost immediately.

well, it happened again this morning, so im just going to assume that its normal. it seems like it happens when the light is off for periods of 8 hours or longer

all fish naturally adjust color when the lights are off. Its a camoflage affect they use so they don't stand out to predators at night. The fish is usually really light or dillute when the light first comes on and then brightens back up in a few minutes of light.

yup. same thing happens with mine. when inactive, they fade the red, out of our visible spectrum. want a cool trick? try shining a blacklight on 'em when it's dark and they're inactive.
