I have a 4 inch gachu and a 2-3 inch one, well I feed them both yesterday now today I open the top to feed again and I only see the 4 inch guy come out to eat... I get nervous so I remove the driftwood in the tank to see if hes hideing... I did this becuase he hides but comes with with the big one when I open the top to feed, this time he didnt... so back to the story, i took the driftwood outside wash it all down and check it to see if the little guy is hideing in there... but no luck so I put the driftwood in another tank outside and am waiting to see just in case if he does come out... but as of now the tank is open meaning no dirftwood or anything for the gachu to hide... and still no sign of the little guy... but the big guy is swimming freely...

Question

Do you guys think the 4 inch guy ate his tank mate?

some out he jump out and a rat ate him?

I just clean my room and no sign of him on the ground....

ANY INFO? I have sand in the tank... you think hes hideing somewhere in the sand?????

HELP!

Channa Gachua have a really bad reputation when kept together as a pair especially if they happen to be both male. It's possible that the second ate the small one if it fits in the mouth. My guess is that he jumped out and land somewhere that you have not look yet. Is your place rat infested? I don't know of any rats being indoor and eating fish that jumped out.

I remembered when I introduced two males around the same size in a 120 tank. Within 10 mins they started fighting and they were going for blood. I had to pull the smaller one out before they kill each other.

i dont think 4 ich ate up 3 inch....

Kangolbrand, jst three QUES frm me.....

1. Are u staying alone in yr room? ( u married? do u have children? )

2. Rats always hanging around in yr area? ( even yr room as well ? )

3. U got pets dog or cat ?

They are not real aggressive(as S.H go) to there species unless they are spawning if your other fish had eaten him he would have a swollen gut. They are however amassing escape artistes I had one get out of a small gap where the filer pipes come into the tank. I found it 2 days later the other side of the fish room desiccated.

wow, great site, lots of quick help. Thanks guys,

my room is not infested with rats... but thats all I can think of that could of got the sh... I clean the room so where the tank is its all clear about 6 ft 180 degree radius. Ill check every again tommow which I did today.... the last one... hes trying to jump out and is swimming everywhere... never did this before... i cover it tight and i hear him hitting the fish tank hood.

quick question... if he/she jump out... how far can they get? within few hrs? im going go look again right now... this is crazy

Heres some picture of the last one in the tank and the tank how it was cover and the driftwood in another tank... hopefully the little missing sh is in there but i doublt it... Ill have a vid up in a sec of the sh last sh in the tank
