Go on show me a pic of a 40" TT most won't even reach the commonly stated 30" and they grow slowly after reaching a certain size so a 2' wide 120 wil last a very long time.

First off, a 125 is only 18" wide. It's a 6ft long tank as opposed to a 4x2 120.
Next, the tire track eel and the fire eel are basically the same, and there are many 40" fire eels around. They also, generally, grow faster than fire eels and can easily be 24"+ within two years. Here's a video of one that the guy says is 70cm (27.5") long. Not 40" but definitely not small.
Between me and my wife I think we're leaning towards a fahaka in one tank, and at least for now using the other to house our gold severums we got from our fish clubs grow out contest along with a big pleco, probably a L025 (if I get my way on the pleco at least). Thanks to everyone that chimed in!
You could do a nice community with some Sevrum or angels with some different pleco species and a big mixed school of corydoras.
With some java ferns and anubias.
In the other a wet pet tank a puffer would be cool or a Red devil or Midas. Polys would also be pretty cool.
I should have read the whole thread before posting. Lol
Good luck with whatever you choose to stock.
