This is absolutely true, convict fry don't grow quickly at all. You could be sitting on your first batch for 6 months before they'd even be worth putting in that tank. And even then they'd probably be too small to bother with. I tried it myself, they pop out serious amounts of fry very often, but they grow so slow it's not worth the effort unless you have small predators.that pair could probably eat a dozen of adult convicts in one sitting. Do you know how much food, and time it would raise enough for feeding them on regular basis? You would need a small pond or lake and daily feeding to possibly raising enough to feed them.

And holy crap those fish look good. I'm in love with that aimara, the jaw on that thing is ridiculous.
