I have 2fx5's on my 130gal at the moment, and I'm wanting to upgrade to a tank 250-300gals by xmas next year hopefully, I plan on having 2 oscars, rtc, silver arowana, and my pbass might add another or two we will see.... Will 2 fx5's be enough to filter a tank that size with them large fish ? Hoping to get one that drilled and has overflows so I can always setup a sump system (once I have money and understand it) which after buying a new tank won't be for quite awhile lol all depends on tank prices at the time by I want a MIN 24" wide tank 36" max...

And just to clarify, my comment was based on you adding the sump to the tank. 2 FX5's alone, are not enough.

I have 2 fx5s and 2 cfs 500s on my 300, ultimately the 2 cfs500s will go and I'll replace them with something bigger and better. But if I could do it again I would def haver mine drilled for a very large sump and still use the 2 fx5s just fir added measure

Stocking was mentioned in first post, so then I should have or get a tank that's already drilled then... What size of sump is good for a 250-300gal tank ? 55gal ? Can the 2 fx5's filter the tank until I'm capable of getting a sump on It and going ? Would be ideal to buy a used tank with sump already there

Sorry missed the stock list, which is going to be WAY too much for even a 300g. Big fish produce massive waste and even 2 FX5 aren't gonna cut it.

A sump is easy to DIY. Basically all you need is a rubbermaid, bio materials, PVC and a pump. A dump (basically a sump on top of your tank) is even easier and more efficient.
