L160 and L282 both at 12". The L160 is slightly fatter than the L282 and is boss when he needs to be but he really is a gentle giant.

Nice 282! How long have you had it and what has its growth rate been? I have 8 that I got at about 4" and their growth rate varies quiet a bit between fish over the last 3 years. I think my biggest ones are only 10 to 11". They have been in the same species tank for about 2 years and I'm not looking forward to moving their spikey little bodies.

Wow! Nice looking couple of giants! The lighter color substrate really brings out the color of the L160. Perhaps get him a lil fatter and see if you can get him to look like a durian? :)

I do notice with my L185 and L282, they bigger they get, the more docile they get. The panaques are a different story....

I always liked light substrate, makes the tank look more natural and they love it. Now that you mentioned it, l160 does look like a durian...but he doesn't stink like one...lol. you are right about them getting more docile as they get bigger. The l282 use to be king but when the l160 started getting fatter it started getting super aggressive with the l282 and now they both just get along...lol.

I've had both of these guys for 2 yrs. They were 8" when I got it. I also got 3" of both plecos around the same time and now they are around 6". So I would say the growth rate is approx. 1.5-2" per yr. In my opinion its a good rate for plecos. Yeah their spikes are crazy sharp...especially on the bigger ones!

Nice plecos! Mmm I was just eating durian yesterday!
