Its called "line class record" They have several line classes to choose from, you catch the biggest fish in that class, you get the record. Im also fully aware that there are people in KY and myself that have caught bigger bass on 12lb test that what I did but I submitted it to IGFA and got the record. IF I would have known about this 10 years ago I would have submitted my 8lb 4oz bass.
