thats how i picked my midas too. she was the only one who would right up to the glass when i was inspecting the tank full of midas. so i picked her. she was also the biggest and while all the others were flaring at each other she never got touched so i assume she was also the most dominant.
she is great with other fish even cichlids ive had/got but i dont know if i would risk another midas in anything smaller than a 6ft tank. just because she is great with tankmates generally doesnt mean she will play nice with conspecifics.
however you can beat the odds occasionally and get a nice one like mine. not all are stock killers. so good luck with them.
