Thanx for all the replies guys, I appreciate all the input! Their hip bones are not showing, and they're super active, using all of the tank to cruise around. This is why I'm not planning on dividing the tank, I'd like them to be able to move around and don't mind spending some extra time daily to make sure the food gets to them. I also have to do this with the pike characins, as they are also slow eaters, and I usually have to distract the oscars to feed them as well.

This. lift the pipe right when they are on it. I would suggest getting them on chopped earthworms and chopped tilapia and raw market shrimp in small pieces. I think they are a bit young still?

That's awesome! If you still have their contact info you should refer them to here. Finding retic breeders is not an easy task. If you don't mind me asking, what are prices like over there?
The guy I bought them from had the mommy and daddy ray in his posession for 10 (!) years. They were both HUGE and breed about 3 times a year. Curious detail was that he had them in a 200G with 1 pup that he had kept (2years old), 1 big gulper catfish and about 6 eels. It looked overcrowded to me, but hey rays don't breed if they don't feel comfortable in a tank so I guess he must be doing something right

My tank is full of polypterus and cats as well. My retics are kicking pups out every 4 months. Just took them from the 180g and put them in the 300g. Looking for more mature adults. I would love to "farm" them. I get $120usd per pup, give or take depending on size and patern.
Like to hear that retics are being reproduced out there. They are truly nice little rays. I still have a young male and female that i was supposed to let go of but don't really feel like it. Lol.
