Im going this weekend to pick out an NGT or two.:headbang2 My question is : Can I keep more than one in the same tank? I heard they were the most agressive dats and especially towards conspecifics. He/they will be going in a tank with 2 thinbars that will be slightly larger.
THanks

so u cant keep widebars wid ngts?

Yes.

i have two n a 330, one is about 5" and the other is about 3 inch..they both hide all the time in the corners...never bothers anyone...

If your tank is big (100 gallons or bigger) and with lots of places for them to hide and call their territory, you can keep just 2. If the answer is no to any of the above, then just get
1. Sooner or later just 2 NGT's will try to kill each other, but if you have a group of 5 or more, the aggression is spread out to the point of being almost eliminated. It is like the african cichlid trick.

:iagree:

so in total, you will have 4 datnoids in that tank. I would say give it a shot.

datnoids will always fight with each other, but by keeping them in a group, you help spread that aggression among the fishes in the group instead of having one fish taking up the beating singly.

When I had 3 large tigers (all 14"+) together....one tiger became dominant and beat up the other two.

Hopefully if you get more it will help spread the aggression. But it is possible to keep two together...I am currently doing it.
