as for the male - female question im pretty sure clownfish don't become male or female until maturity and the sex they come out as is depended on domenency and even then they can shift (im not 100% but im pretty positive)

it's only retrogynous (is that the right word?) they start out male and the dominant one becomes female... as opposited by anthias and wrasses

They ar always excavating, and moveing rocks around the tank!!!
ALWAYS busy decorating !!!!

But the bigger (female) is kind of mean to the coral beauty, not the blue damsel of the other inhabitants just the coral beauty???? I dunno!

Maroons are agressive lil sh*ts and need a tank of 30 gallons per fish (they grow around 7"),Percs or Ocellaris all the way,Ocellaris IMO look alot better to,more even coloration,friendlier in general and more active fish.

Ive had both and i would never choose a overpriced wild Perc over a Tank Bred prettier Ocellaris...its the price tag that puts people off,bare in mind when these fish were first introduced they were the same price...until they were commonly tank bred,anhd the black variety is nearly double the price of Perculas.

Plus to an outsider...noone can tell the diffrence.

dont go with the maroon clown they are extremely agressive

go with the pair better viewing and better tank mates

If you're not buying a mated pair of perculas. (because they are way overpriced) The best way to get a pair is to buy 1 larger one and 1 smaller one.
