ahha haha well why not go with brine cubes?

nope not really but its good for them or you could get freeze dried mysis shrimp, thats what i feed my small fish.

Give this a try buy frozen bloodworms thaw them a lil bit and put tooth picks in them re freeze them with the tooth picks in them and just use the tooth pick as a handle you will never be in direct contact that way. Or just drop a frozen cube right out of the package into the tank. Just a few thaughts.

sorry off topic but hey duster havnt seen u around in a while

I've got a Jd myself and bought him too at only 2 inches. From what it sounds like, your fish already has a good variety of food. I feed my JD worms and grubs as well as cichlid pellets, but my JD is kinda particular about food that's not moving. If you still want to feed him/her worms and are worried about your allergy and can't find red worms, just buy nightcrawlers and cut them up into bite size pieces and feed the JD one at a time. I usually cut the worm in half, squeeze all the dirt/poop out, and then slice it up.

1. I am allergic to bloodworms :( but I want to feed my JD them so he will more of a variety besides brine shrimp/beefheart/hikari pellets/market shrimp anyone have any ideas on how i could do so without setting off my allergic reaction? Would be greatly appreciated

2. I have my temp at 79 degrees for my Jack Dempsey and 2x Senegalus is that ok?

McFall:

Regarding your allergies, I would recommend using latex gloves (I know they are a pain in the ***, but they work.), tweezers, or possibly see if you can get allergy shots, from your doctor (just a thought).

Your water temp for your JD should be 72 - 77 deg. F.
Your water temp for your Senegal should be 77 - 82 deg. F.
Figure the math equation on your own, but IMO, unles you're trying to breed your JD, 79 deg. F is dangerously high for your JD on a constant regular basis.

I hope this helps.

You could get frozen bloodworms (midge fly larvae) in cubed blister packs. Just pop a cube into an old cup of water to thaw before feeding out. After placing the frozen bloodworm pack back in the freezer, wash your hands and apply hand sanitizer.
