2 quick questions,please answer:)

well ok first question is that my red devil has recently started digging ALOT she used to alwasy dig but now its like diging alot and she even ignores me sometimes when i pass by the aquarium because she is to busy diging is there a reason for this? shes alone in the tank and around 8-9 inches.

my second question is that i recently bought a green severum and hes in my 35 gallon with a firemouth and a turtle. hes alwasy hiding, he doesnt eat either what can i do for him to feel less scared.

1) Cichlids like digging, they want the tank how they want the tank.
2) Ditch the turtle and rearrange the aquarium.

What happened to the JD that was with your RD?

As said before digging is just what cichlids do. It may take a few days for the severun to get adjusted. You do know that turtles eat fish, right? What kind of turtle is this?

llmaoo what tank mate she killed evreyhting that has been in there since i got her, i no that cichilds liek diggin but since yesterday she has been digging alot i thought that maybe somethig was going on.

its a red ear slider, and the jd got a hell of a beating and is pretty much fighting for his life in a hospital tank i set up yesterday

and yes i no they eat fish, but they only eat fish they could catch. they wont go after healthy fish that they no they cant catch.

1st Question: I owned a Midas in the past, and he loved to dig....he would rearrange the whole tank to what he wants.....for example I had black gravel that was at a level 3" all around the tank. He would think it's fun to move all the gravel to one side only and he also loved making mountains.

2nd Question: Even though I love turtles, I would put him in his own separate tank.

I'd just get rid of the turtle, means more room for more fish. I had 2 firemouths at 2 different times. Got rid of one cause he kept beating on my prized SEVRUM. and the other had to go cause my oscar and buddha aka butterkofi, for some reason no one on this site has not heard of them refered to as buddha's but every LFS in this area labels them as such, wanted to try to shove him in their mouths even though they couldn't.
