Sorry it took me a while to respond, I was having trouble with my account and my email.

That's a nice fish. I'm looking for a pair myself.
Why is the success rate so low with this fish?
Not sure. The first one I ever tried did the whole "died out of nowhere" thing. It's possible it had something to do with feeding it blackworms. Those things are nasty, but it was all it would take.
The second time around I bought two juvies, and avoided live food. The night I put them in the tank, they aggressively ate flake and frozen bloodworms. Once they put a few inches on them, I moved them to the 180g which at the time had my CL's, some oscars, and I don't remember what else, and the lighter color one was always hiding and I think it just stressed out and died. This one just jumped the hurdle, and is still going strong.
[QUOTE~T~]Very nice are you sure hes male as the females tend to be the ones with more solid blue.Mines much darker with a lot of black markings.[/QUOTE]
Thank you. Umm, I'm not sure... I call it a male based on the length of the dorsal and anal fins, but I could very well be wrong.

What a gorgeous fish!! I got a little baby 2 incher that I am trying to grow out. How big is it and how long did it take to get there? I know they take FOREVER to grow.
Thanks for the compliment. Currently the fish is about 5-6", and I got him a little under 1"
It's taken him about 8 months to get to this size, but he seems to be growing somewhat faster now that he takes more foods than when he was a baby.
I'd say it's growth is similar to a GT. Good luck with your lil 2 incher and don't give up if it croaks. You will find one that will make it.
