2 sun sun 304 b for 180 gallon

I was wondering if 2 sun sun 304 b canister filters is enough for a 180 gallon. I was going to go with a combo of hobs sponge filters and a canister but I realized canisters were my best bet for a larger tank and I conceale them under my stand and sponge filters are ugly l. I plan on stocking it with a large community of big cichlids and maybe a large catfish or something(something that gets between one and 2 feet) anyway I just ordered one sun sun 304b to get the tank cycled and started, but if I just got one more down the road would it be enough, and if not would 3 be enough??? Also I bought an aqueon 300 watt heater, it's the cheapest 300 watt heater from a real brand I could find(I've heard horror stories about off brand heaters so I wasn't willing to take the risk) do you think that will be enough ??? If not I can always buy a second heater down the road

Don't cheap out, do two canisters as the 304 only does like 300 something gallons per hour? Two 300 watt heaters in case one fails and 2 large sponge filters
 
The 304 does 525 gph and I planed on getting at least 2 anyway. And will one 300 watt be enough to heat my tank until I can buy a second one?

Oh yeah, they do 525 oops, I would still do two all bio on all trays, and two sponge filters, I had the Aqueon 300 not the best heater, I spent a bit more money and just bought the eheim jäger 300, it's rated for like 200-265 gallons?
 
I currently have 2 AC110s and 1 SunSun 304B on a 125 Gallon Tank - With a 180 I would suggest at least what I have setup wise.

Heater wise I use Eheim Jager 200w x 2. I prefer two heaters of lower wattage on larger tanks because if one malfunctions it can't heat the tank up in a short enough time that I wouldn't notice and kill my stock.
 
Ok, I have a 303B on my 29gal so I have some experience with it.

First, the rating for the pump flow is based on the pump running with no head or restriction. Once you put the media and sponges in the filter, it drops the flow significantly. For example, my 303B is rated at 375gph, but once it's filled with media and sponges the flow has dropped to probably about 225-250gph. I would venture to say that your 525 will probably turn into 400 or less once the media is added.

I would recommend adding at least three of them but it would be best to add four. They are great filters and hold a lot of media. Four of them will still cost you less than two FX-6's or Eheims.
 
I have 2 x 304 on my 180 gal, works well on my tank with my stock.
 
The heater I would say no. I use a 300 watt heater with a temp controller on my 60 and it's just enough. Granted the room is 75-78 at all times and the tank is 85. I would get at least two 300 watt heaters and a temp controller.
