2 tanks into 1 tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I have a 55gal tank in the back yard that has a cracked long side and I believe Petco has some tanks on sale. $1 per gallon = $55 for a 55gallon tank. My 29g tank isn't cutting it anymore. :nilly:

Dr. Joe, what did you use to adhere the glass together? Did you weld the aluminum angle or bolted them together?

BTW Mystix212 what episode of HTF is that on your avatar? I've never seen that one.

have you EVER built an aquarium before?
maybe you could practice on some 10g before you put the 55g on the chopping block.
plus glass or acrylic sheets are pricey. (i looked into it a while back cause i wanted to try and build my own mother of a tank-:screwy: i was definately out of my element there) not that im even for a minute suggesting that you dont (i wish i could do it too) but i wouldnt attempt it without an extra pair of hands(im a bit of a clutz)

good luck!:headbang2

rmbaker77 has a point, you can usually find used 10g tanks at garage sales for about $1 or free on freecycle.org get a few and try out on those b4 you bust up your only tank.If you lived near me I could give you 6 10g tanks to play with
