2 very expensive hobby's gun/fish tanks

My question is why couldn't Springfield make the XD's here in the states like all their other guns? Why the hell are they made in Croatia?

Handgun ban from the 80s. I can own shots and rifles, but no handguns. Well, you can't register handguns and if you have them, hope that the cops never find them as they will be confiscated.

I know they recently changed the law and are giving people a small window of time to get a handgun permit. You need classes, money, more money, and to stand in the virtual line behind LOTS of other people.
I don't have the money for the required classes, or I would do it. I want to take classes anyhow, just low on the list.

I am a pretty damn good shot with .38 revolvers and a .357 magnum with .38 ammo. I am pretty crappy with 9mm though - always down and to the right, lol.

BTW - a used target with about 20 rounds in the center mass and no strays clipped to my fridge by my back door is a great deterrant for wanna be thugs. Hopefully they would see that and turn around if they didn't see the Beware of Dogs sign
- and if they pass the dog sign, and target, they aren't too bright because since I don't have a gun in the house, they get to meet my protection trained dog ;)
 
I thought that ban was over turned

For the discussion though, i have a much easier time justifying spending paychecks on firearms over fish tank stuff :)
Now if i could only get rid of the ak and actually get normal pay checks again i can start on the AR build
