absolutely. My P's more active than what I hear from most serra keepers, but still he's only patrolling/fingerchasing like < 10% of the time. The rest of the time he sits in one spot and lurks. If their are feeders in the tank, he'll go after those, but he goes through them so fast I can't afford to keep him entertained.

that's why you need to setup a breeding colony of convicts and provide hiding spots for them. both of mine try to go after them but rarely got lucky. with a shoal of pygo may be different but with a single serra. it may work out.

so jp, its been two weeks since you got that rhom,

you talk yourself into that shoal of caribe yet. juvy caribe season is coming soon!!

oh, I'm not talking about this blue diamond. I'm referring to the black diamond in my 75g. it hides all the time behind a driftwood and only comes out when no one is there or when the lights are out (except moon light). if it doesn't come out of its shell I might really just sell it and get some caribes. which leaves him not much time since juvy caribe season is coming.

or just get a new tank :naughty: and have all three

do you have a convict pair, breeding in that tank? that would be amazing, but I would have to think they would get eaten

Good idea, only if my empty 55g could magically transform itself into a 180g.

I have two convict pairs breeding in my 180g. the blue tried and almost nailed one of the adult male but it got away.
in the 75g i only have about 10 small ones from the 180g but they managed to not get eaten. I'm sure if I remove the center driftwood the black will get them all, that's what's keeping them alive cuz they keep on playing hide and seek with the rhom

if they breed enough thats great food for piranha, I would love to pick up a breeding pair of red isletas and make the offspring the piranhas constant food source, need more tanks and more money for the electric bill

well those get big so you'll need a separate tank, if you go for convicts and don't want to keep them together with rhom, just divide the tank with egg crate. my 3rd pair breed in 10g so you only need a little space for them to breed.
