2 WEEKS AFTER RESEAL. QUICK QUESTION...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well this is a 46 gallon and the seam was thin. It seems fine for now i dont have time to work on it right now so ill keep and eye out for leaks

I normally let my tanks sit for a week after reseal for peace of mind, but have seen this film on the silicone too. I haven't seen a problem with it yet. I'm no scientist, and I'm guessing no one else in this thread either, so who knows what the hell that film is. I always poke around and make sure the silicone is solid before filling too.

I think 2 weeks is rather excessive

< always waits at least close to 1 week.

I filled mine up after about a week but with water In there I get this algea type or slime on it when I run the algea scrubber on top of the silicone. But this only happened after the tank has been setup for a couple of months now. But I know your not supposed to but I did one layer that was thin on. The corners and bottom of the tank then let that dry. Then I did another fat layer on the top of it let that dry all within one week and I don't think I have a problem. I mean the tank has been setup like this for a couple of months now and I don't have any problems as of yet. Hope this helped

Well i havent noticed a problem with my tank yet but once it gets nice out here in NY i will probly do it over if i notice anything/
