i got my store bought pbass to eat bloodworms the same day home, never gave it live. eventually he sturck at anything that hit the tank but spat out everything but bloodworms...go figure. now bloodworms frozen or freezedried is his favorite. i have yet to get my pbass that was wild caught to eat anything but live. but i have however gotten him to realize im the giver of food which is important.

i agree to try puting food in the filter flow, it might make it look alive enough to g oafter things, and eventually you'll find something it will eat and not spit out.

Try some live ghost shrimp to get them used to the taste of shrimp. Drop them in one at a time. If they don't eat them right away its ok. After about 40 ghost shrimp all 7 of my 2-3" occels hammer frozen pieces of shrimp to the point it looks like they will burst.

I was having similiar problems with my Aro. I ended up taking a piece of tilapia, prawn, etc and pinching the very tip of the meat with hemostats (extra long skinny pliers) and then placing the finger holes of the hemostats under my lid (outside the tank), so the tip of the hemostats and the meat was hanging in the water. It was positioned right in front of a power head which kept the meat moving. The Aros just pulled it right off. After a while of that, they'll take it the second it hits the water now. it's a lot to go through, but it worked for me...

Thats sounds like a great idea...Thank you.

Whatever i eats alive....kill it, freeze it, feed it.... it will take it! Worked on a 2" Armatus, and that species is tougher to get off live, IMO.

That sounds like a great idea! I haven't had trouble yet, but if I do, I'm going to try this.
