Bullhead for awhile, sunfish for awhile, pickerel for awhile...there are plenty of native fishes that can live in a 29g for longer than "awhile". Do yourself a favor MarbleGoby and avoid fishes that will outgrow your tank unless you have a place to put them when they grow into adults.

i'd personally do a fast moving stream with darters and sculpins
