20 gallon stocking idea would this work?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Which spiny eel, though? It would make a difference depending on which size 20 gallon tank he has - some only have a 2 foot length.

Angelphish has a great list up there for you.

Do you have a 20 long or 20 tall? What are the tank dimensions? It will make a difference in the fish you can keep in there for life.

You mean rainbowfish or rainbow cichlids?
What kind of eel are you talking about?

Completely agree that your angel will need 55+ eventually.

I personally would avoid the BN pleco because their bioload is high for a fish, so they can really limit the total number of fish you can have in a smaller tank. Just depends if the BN is something you want badly enough to have fewer total fish or not.
My tank is the 90 litre roma so its 60 cm wide 40 wide and 45 tall rainbow cichlids not rainbow fish well its just because there is a lot of algee in that so i assume the albino bristle nose pleco is the best algee eatee which stay relativlty small?
Yeh totally i have but him there for a couple of days untill his fins grow back thats all the eel was names 'yellow spiny eel' only get max 5-6 inches

Got it, so not a 20 long, and about 24". Thanks! The problem with that tank is that it will limit what you can put in there more than a 20 long, which is around 30" long. So I'm not sure it would be appropriate for the rainbow cichlids. Mayyyybe a pair of apistos or rams? Still might be tight for them. Again, I'd go off of Angelphish's list.

You already have the spiny eel - I missed that. Yeah, that must be a yellow tail zig zag? That size would be OK in there longer term.

You could do a group of Otocinclus for algae. The BN would work too but again they just poop a lot. :) If you have algae you'll want to maybe drop your light period shorter or look at other things in your water quality that might have caused a bloom, too.
