What im really looking for is amphibians or small lizards.

A male ball python along with corn snakes, milk snakes etc.

Not allowed to keep snakes.

Forgot to mention it will have to be something that won't eat the plants.

what about some mantids or arachnids? Whip scorpions do very well in paludariums.
