Rescued this guy from an uninformed hobbyist and he hasn't eaten for over a week. I'm worried I'm gonna lose him. Any suggestions? Thanks mike

If water is good you could try garlic. Like garlic extreme I think it is called. I use to use it to increase appetite and it seemed to work for me. Me meaning my fish ;)

When I moved my 15" Pacu he didn't eat for days and that was just from moving across the room to a bigger tank. I would entice him by dropping a pellet or two right in front of him, eventually he started eating.

Double check your water then just wait.

Ammonia and nitrite are 0, low nitrate <5ppm. He's in a 120 4 foot tank with a 2' RTC. Came from a 400 gallon, so they're both pissed. I will get some garlic product today and see if that helps. Anyone know someone who wants a 2' RTC?

Start a new thread on this Forum Marketplace section for the RTC.

Why have you bought these if you have a 120?
What are your plans for them, you've hardly rescued them have you, you've put em in a puddle.

Wow, no wonder he's not eating, he'd probably be stressed being in such a tiny tank, why would you "Rescue" him? Must have been a really bad tank if he was even worse off before.

If he does start eating you'll need to do 90% water changes daily to keep it clean.:)
