Nope but perhaps in the wild? Dont quote me on it though.

The person in your link reports, "While I haven't seen them with my own eyes, I have HEARD of breeder tinfoils in florida EXCEEDING 20".

Unless you've seen, in the flesh, a tinfoil barb exceeding 20", or at worst saw a photograph, then i'd take it with a pinch of salt.

The biggest tinfoils i've ever seen were around 15". Bala sharks max out at a similar size as well. And these max sizes are usually achieved in the wild, though both of these species can also reach similar sizes in very large public aquariums.

For both of these species to max out at 15" in a home aquarium, even a large one, i'd say, is very very rare. But as dogofwar pointed out it can be done if conditions are very good.

Check out some of these Thailand Fishing resort sites. You'll see Hypsibarbus Wetmorei the yellow fin tinfoil barb hit 15"-20" easy //

In the 6th pic that barb is over 20"

these here i guess are pretty average

golden belly tinfoil looks bigger than schwandenfeld barb in every one + most places that keep giant siamese carp will have both barbs there most likely also huge.

20" for tank raised barbs will be a challenge but they're out there. would be sick to keep the puntioplites proctozysron.
