200+gal Tank

I am looking to purchase a 200+ gallon aquarium. Ideally I would like a 300 gallon, but cannot find anything in my price range. After estimating the cost of the new filtration, lighting, stand, decor, etc... I am looking for a reasonable priced tank.

I am located 30 miles north of NYC

Im not sure if the 1$ per gallon rules still applies to tanks you can walk into a pet store and buy. I would think that the bigger the tank means the harder to find and should be more than 1$ per gal.
