That last stock should work great! Just make sure its a true Midas as IME they are much less aggressive then Mix and pure RD.

Hi All!

First post on MFK. Been reading this site for years I always thought keeping monster fish would be a little cray. Now they are all I want to keep!!

My 200 gal tank is finally arriving. It's 7ft x 2ft x 2ft, roughly 210 gallons + a 75G sump. I have a stocklist in mind for a Hap/Peacock tank but I've been playing with the idea of an american tank instead. I was wondering if anyone here can suggest a stock list. Here are my top picks

Midas
Oscar
P. Dovii
P. Loisellei
Vieja Argentea.

Others:
Electric Blue Jack Dempsey
Red Terror

Would a combination and/or multiple of any of these work?

Has anyone tried a community of my top 5?

Cheers,
Leon
First congrats on the big tank and welcome to MFK.
Second , have you had any prior experience with cichlids ( no mention of it in the post)
Third on the stock list.....
I have a tank which has a single Pbass , single Male Jack dempsey , 2 P Loisellei , 2 Mayan Cichlids , 3 Midevils and 1 jaguar and when I look at it closely different fishes occupy different levels on the tank , which you will have to keep in mind.
I can suggest 2 changes to your list...
Remove the Dovii and add Jaguar
Remove the Oscar and add Red terror.
Avoid the EBJD in total...they are very mild in comparison to the stock list in your mind and will be stressed to death

How big is your tank and fishes ?

Yes I do :) I have a stable tank of demasonis and Labs, another tank with gold nugget and bolivian rams, 3 tanks with one flowerhorn each.

I see what you mean by their swimming areas. I'll keep your stock suggestions in mind friend! Thanks!
