200 Gallon native stock ideas

Just going to go ahead and state the obvious, its not a native tank if you have tinfoils and oscars.

If you want tinfoils oscars and a florida gar, there are loads of cool tropicals you could keep with them that would be better and more visually appealing than the natives.

I have tinfoils and a florida gar in my 225 and I love keeping them with my GG clown knife, bichirs and Achara catfish, Keeping a bunch of dull brown coloured fish that require different temperatures just wouldn't compare

I would only put natives in there. not because they wouldnt get along but im just not a fan of non native species in the tank. i would like to have a tank that looks like i put a window into a lake. if you want a gar, i would use a florida gar. they do not grow as big as the others. smallies would be cool. i have a lmb in my tank. like you, i want to get some sort of panfish of some sort. the pickeral would be neat as well. along with maybe a crappie or two. you can get some shiners or chubs from a bait store. keep them in a quarintine tank for a little while and treat them with some anti fungal and anti protozoan meds just to be safe. i have never had any problems using this method. the bass loves them too.

thanks lunker, i like the bait minnows idea they would also be good as a vacation feeder plan because they are relatively cheap, i was just spit balling with the tinfoils because i have kept them before and saw their size and they were a schooling fish.
I still would like some more info on the smb, like if it would be set for life in that size of a tank and would a lmb be fine in there too?
anybody kept grass pickerel before? any info appreciated.
I hope to have the tank stocked by june so i still have time to do research
